Man Found Guilty of Murdering 22-Year-Old in Troon

A 35-year-old man has been convicted of murdering a young man in Troon.

James Thomson was found guilty of the murder of 22-year-old Callum Pollock following a trial at Glasgow High Court on Thursday, 30 October 2025. He will be sentenced at a later date.
Emergency services were called around 11.40pm on Saturday, 6 July 2024, to a property at Ramsay Court, Scott Crescent, after reports of a man being seriously injured. Callum was pronounced dead at the scene, and Thomson was later arrested and charged in connection with his death.
Detective Chief Inspector Keith Runcie said: “This was a shocking and violent attack which has resulted in the death of a young man. Thomson will now face the consequences of his actions.
“Our thoughts remain with Callum’s family and I hope this conviction brings them some level of comfort.
“Violent incidents such as this are not tolerated in our communities and our officers will continue to work tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice.”
