A new family-run sweet shop has opened on the Brodick beachfront, bringing a mix of nostalgia and modern treats to the Isle of Arran.

The Sweet Spot has been launched by local business owners Vik and Daniel Steel, who are also known for running the Isle of Arran Candle Company. The new venture has been created as a true family project, inspired by their daughters Lily, 10, and Evie, 15.

Lily came up with the shop’s name, while Evie designed the logo, with the whole family helping shape the look, feel and offering of the new business.

Situated in a prime spot on Brodick seafront, The Sweet Spot offers a range of traditional favourites including hand-cut fudge, pick-and-mix sweets, soft drinks and a variety of treats aimed at both children and adults.

Speaking about the new opening, Vik and Daniel Steel said: “Our vision was to create something truly special as a family, something that reflects the warmth, fun and nostalgia we all associate with sweet shops. We wanted it to feel like a place where memories are made, whether you’re a child discovering your favourite sweets or an adult rediscovering them.”

Sheila Gilmore, chief executive of VisitArran, welcomed the opening and said: “What a fantastic addition to the island. Arran is the perfect destination for families, and a trip to this lovely family sweet shop is sure to put a smile on the face of visitors and locals of all ages.”

The shop is proudly embracing its island setting with the slogan, “Life is Sweeter on Arran”, capturing both the spirit of the business and its location.

With its family-focused approach and prominent beachfront setting, The Sweet Spot looks set to become a popular stop for both locals and visitors looking to enjoy a traditional sweet shop experience on Arran.
