Police Appeal After 66 Year-Old Woman Struck in Serious Road Crash in Ayr

Officers are appealing for information after a woman was injured in a serious road crash in Ayr on Thursday, 5 December, 2019.

Around 4:15pm, a 66-year-old woman was struck by a blue, Vauxhall Mokka car on the A79 at Station Road, near its junction with Mill Street.


Emergency services attended and the lady was taken to Ayr Hospital. The driver of the car was uninjured but badly shaken by the incident.


The road was closed to allow crash scene investigation to take place and enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances.


Sergeant Kevin Blackley said: “I am appealing to people who were in the area around the time of the crash to contact us. In particular, if you have a dash cam, please check your footage as it could have captured footage which could assist us in our investigation.”
