Police Appeal for Witnesses After Fatal Crash Near Maybole

A 24-year-old man has died following a serious road traffic collision near Maybole in the early hours of Monday morning.

The crash occurred at around 12.50am on the B742 south of Dalrymple and involved a black BMW One Series. Emergency services responded swiftly, but the driver was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
He has been named as Ewan MacDonald, from the Maybole area.
In a statement released through Police Scotland, Ewan’s family said:
“Ewan will be forever missed. We are so grateful for all the love, support and kindness shown from our family, friends and community.”
Sergeant Scott Gourlay of Police Scotland said:
“Our thoughts are with Ewan’s family and friends. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and I ask anyone who has not spoken to the police already and saw what happened to contact us. I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash-cam or CCTV which could assist to get in touch.”
