Police in North Ayrshire are appealing for witnesses following a serious road crash on Dalry Road, Kilwinning, on Wednesday, 30 October 2019.

The incident happened around 3.20pm near Kilwinning Academy and involved a red Ford Fiesta and a 9-year-old girl. Emergency services attended and the girl was taken by helimed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where her condition is described as serious but stable.

The road was closed until 9.15pm while police carried out their investigations.

Inspector Greg Dinnie, of Ayrshire’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and has not yet spoken to us to come forward.

“I’m particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dash-cam footage which could help with our enquiries.”

Those with information can contact the Road Policing Unit in Ayrshire on 101, quoting reference number 2192 of 30 October.
