Officers are appealing for witnesses following a robbery that occurred in Girvan in the early hours of Sunday 11 September 2016.
At around 0230 hours on 11 September, a 41 year old woman was walking along High street in Girvan, near to the rear of the Queens Hotel when she was approached by an unknown man who demanded money from her before taking possession of her purse.
The purse was returned before the man ran off in in unknown direction.
DC Currie from Ayr CID said today
“Our enquiries have been ongoing to trace the man responsible. We have been analysing available CCTV and conducting door to door enquiries in the area. At this time we are seeking information from the public. This incident happened as the women was walking home after a night out so there may have been other people in the area at this time. The man is described as being in his early 20s, white with a Scottish accent and was wearing a dark blue hooded top with white writing or logo on the front.
