Police continue to appeal for information after a robbery at a Saltcoats newsagent

Due to ongoing legal considerations this statement has been considered and approved by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.

Police in Saltcoats are seeking a male in connection with a robbery that took place in Wylies’ Newsagents, Springvale Street, Saltcoats around 3.40pm on Friday 12th January 2018. Detectives are keen to speak to a number of people believed to have been in the vicinity both immediately before and after the robbery.

Detective Inspector Mick Carr of Saltcoats CID said:

"From local enquiries we have established that there were a number of people in the vicinity of the newsagents around the time of the robbery. We are keen to trace and speak with the male on this CCTV footage who was seen cycling in the vicinity around the time of this incident.

Anyone with information which may assist the investigation is asked to call Saltcoats CID via 101, or alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
