Police divers help with search of missing Graham Johnstone


POLICE special diving units called in for the search of missing 70 year old Graham Johnstone.


Reports have told Ayrshire Daily News, Police Scotland have called in it's special diving search units to help with the search of missing Graham Johnstone who went missing on New Years day.

Coastugard 999, search and rescue helicopter was out for the second time today also, searching local costal areas.


The rescue helicopter has been searching the Ayr, Prestwick and Troon area.

The public, yesterday, were asked by the family of Graham to stand down from the search and let police continue.

Mr Johnstone was reported missing on New Years Day and has been missing from 10:40am on the 1st of January, when he left his home in Whitehill Crescent in Annbank, Ayrshire.

He was wearing a black zipped top, beige trousers, a fawn coloured cardigan, and may also be wearing a hat.

Mr Johnstone enjoys walking alongside the local rivers and routes, and although Graham is in good health, his family are extremely worried that he has failed to return home, and just want him home safe.

Ayrshire Police Division said: "Police resources, such as the dog unit, have been involved in the search for Mr Johnstone, however, attempts to locate him have so far proved unsuccessful.

If anyone has any information or has seen Mr Graham Johnstone, please contact officers at Ayr Police Office on 101 as soon as possible.
