Police in Irvine are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in the town

The incident happened near the Iceland supermarket on Irvine High Street around 10.45pm on Friday, 24 January.

A 19-year-old man suffered facial injuries during the disturbance. Detective Constable Ross Brierley of Ayrshire CID said: "The area was busy at the time and we are looking to speak to anyone who may have seen a disturbance involving a number of young people. "In particular we are looking to identify a man described as being around 5ft 9in tall, of slim build with ginger/fair hair. He was wearing a dark coloured bodywarmer and grey tracksuit trousers. "Anyone who can help our investigation is asked to call 101, quoting incident 4313 of 24 January, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
