Darius Campbell who appeared on Pop Idol in 2002 will headline Ayr's Christmas Lights Switch On for 2015.
The switch on will be held on Sunday, November 15th in Ayr High Street from 4pm to 6pm.
Darius first gained fame in 2001 after appearing on the British talent competition Popstars. A year later he was voted to the finals of the TV talent show, Pop Idol. He turned down Simon Cowell's record deal, then signed with producer Steve Lillywhite.
Among headline act Darius, a fantastic Ayrshire line-up of talent on the High Street will include Sean C. Kennedy, Three Card Trick, The cast of Ayr Gaiety panto ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and Ayr Pipe Band Society.
The Karen Douglas Dancers will also perform at Ayr Fish Cross from 3pm –
3.30pm.
South Ayrshire Council have recently bought brand new Christmas Lights for Ayr town centre which look amazing and have had great feedback from locals, this will make the town centre look spectacular this Christmas and will make Ayr's switch on one of the best.
The event will be hosted by the hilarious DJ Steve McKenna.
