Road improvements planned for Kilmarnock town centre

The Ayrshire Roads Alliance, as part of its ongoing programme to improve the condition of the road network, will be carrying out essential road resurfacing works on the A735 within Kilmarnock town centre.

The works, which will cost £140,000, will take place between Saturday 2 and Friday 14 July on Fowlds Street, King Street and St Marnock Street. The roadworks will start at 18:00 each day to avoid peak times and to keep town centre disruption to a minimum. To carry out these works safely and efficiently and to protect the roads operatives and the travelling public the affected section will have to close from 18:00 and will re-open fully at 06:00. Diversion routes will be in place and signed accordingly. Access to properties within the limits of the works will be restricted but access will be given as soon as it is safe to do so. Emergency access will be maintained at all times. The Ayrshire Roads Alliance on behalf of East Ayrshire Council apologises in advance for any inconvenience caused by the works.
