Seamill Hydro, one of Scotland’s most iconic coastal hotels, is asking locals and guests to help name its brand-new restaurant space and cocktail lounge.

The hotel's stylish new restaurant and cocktail lounge is currently under construction and set to become a significant new dining destination on the West Coast. The space, formerly known as ‘The Arran Suite’ is being fully reimagined as part of the hotel’s ongoing transformation under RAD Hotel Group, which took ownership in 2023.
As part of the ambitious development, the footprint of the existing Orangery restaurant will be extended to create two distinct new spaces with floor-to-ceiling views over the Firth of Clyde. Once complete, the new restaurant will increase guest capacity by 50%, expanding from 120 to 180 seats for guests. The brand-new cocktail lounge will adjoin the extended Orangery, offering guests panoramic coastal views, perfect for pre-dinner drinks or sunset sips.
Anyone wishing to participate in the refurbishment of Seamill Hydro can suggest a name by commenting on the hotel’s social media posts here or emailing the team at marketing@rad.ltd.uk with their suggestions. You could win a year’s free dining* if you come up with the top moniker.
Aaron Kyle, sales and marketing director at The RAD Hotel Group, said,
“At RAD, we’re passionate about creating warm, memorable spaces where people can relax, reconnect, and enjoy great Scottish hospitality and service.
“This new restaurant and cocktail bar is our latest investment in that vision, and we want the people of Ayrshire to help us give it the perfect name.”
Seamill Hydro has also launched Spritz Season on its terrace, offering a refreshing cocktail collection from any of the hotel bars to celebrate the campaign and toast the summer season.
Guests can enjoy four long effervescent drinks, perfect for toasting those lazy days by the sea. From the ever-popular Aperol Spritz to a Hugo Spitz with elderflower liqueur, Prosecco, and soda, all priced at £10, there’s something for everyone on the menu.

The hotel remains open throughout development, welcoming guests for seaside getaways, weddings, dining, and drinks. The new restaurant is expected to open later this autumn.
Whether you’re a regular guest, a resident, or simply a fan of the Ayrshire coastline, Seamill Hydro wants your ideas. Get creative and inspired, and you could help name the West Coast’s next great dining destination and win a year of free dining* at the hotel.
