Ayrshire’s Seamill Hydro has released the first images of its new purpose-built Technogym-powered gym and mixed-fitness facility, which is set to become one of Scotland’s leading independent health clubs.

In what is being described as a Scottish first, the fitness facility will be the first in the country to feature Technogym’s new Sand Stone Collection. The Italian design-led range of high-performance cardio and strength equipment will form the centrepiece of the hotel’s new Hydro Health Club, opening as part of a three-phase rollout in 2026.

Designed around the needs of existing members, the new club will include a purpose-built 226 sq m functional gym, spacious fitness studios for group classes, functional training and holistic movement, and fully personalised training delivered through the Technogym App to offer a connected and tailored workout experience. A dedicated recovery room will open in the final phase to support rest, mobility and post-training rejuvenation.

Community has been placed at the heart of the redevelopment, with current members helping to shape RAD Hotel Group’s vision to evolve the existing facilities into what it hopes will be one of Scotland’s leading health clubs, while remaining fully independent and inclusive for the local community and hotel guests.

The project is described as one of the most ambitious developments in Seamill Hydro’s recent history. Bespoke refurbishments are nearing completion, with the space designed to blend performance, luxury and tranquillity against the hotel’s West Coast setting.

Speaking about the Hydro Health Club, Aaron Kyle, sales and marketing director at The RAD Hotel Group, said:

“Our aim is to create a world-class facility that elevates health and wellbeing for our guests and local members here at Seamill Hydro. A club where you can come together, stay active, improve your long-term fitness goals and socialise in beautiful natural surroundings. Bringing something new to Ayrshire, and indeed Scotland, has always been our vision, and we’re excited to begin revealing our plans.”

Alongside the new fitness facilities, RAD Hotel Group is upgrading the Hydro swimming pool, including enhancements to tiling, lighting and poolside facilities to create a brighter, more modern leisure environment.

The works build on the recent extension and ongoing transformation of a new bar, lounge and restaurant, which is due to be completed and opened in spring next year, as part of the group’s wider ambition to position Seamill Hydro as one of Scotland’s leading coastal leisure and wellness destinations.

Ben Sandham, UK country manager at Technogym UK, said:

“Technogym is delighted to partner with RAD Hotel Group.

“Seamill Hydro’s vision aligns perfectly with Technogym’s commitment to creating spaces where wellness, technology and design come together. We’re proud to support this next chapter as the resort establishes itself as one of Scotland’s premier wellness destinations.”

Seamill Hydro is inviting local residents and hotel guests to register their interest in the new Hydro Health Club ahead of its phased opening in 2026, with further information due to be released in the coming months.
