The store, located in the Rivergate Centre in Irvine town centre, marked the occasion by presenting long-service certificates to team members Yvonne Gray, Karrie McKay & Alyson Booth, who are celebrating milestones with the store.

Alyson, a store supervisor at Specsavers Irvine, has built up more than two decades of experience working closely with both staff and customers to provide professional care and services to the local community.

She says: ‘It’s honestly been a pleasure working with the Specsavers Irvine team and the local community for the past 20 years. I’m proud to see the store grow from strength to strength, as well as support generations of customers who’ve paid us a visit for eye tests and care over the years.

Yvonne, a prescribing optometrist with the store, also marks her 20 year anniversary at Specsavers Irvine. She says: ‘Over the past two decades, I’ve got to know so many of our customers who have paid us a visit and it’s fantastic to be able to play a key role in our community.

‘It’s also been fantastic to see the team grow, bringing different strengths to their roles and also see the technology become more advanced, such as OCT, providing an invaluable piece of kit when caring for our customer’s eye health needs.’

‘Throughout my career, I’ve seen many positive changes within the store such as recent expansion, and we have a lot of lovely customers whom I’ve gotten to know when they visit for their eye test every two years.’

Store manager Karrie, also celebrates a milestone, marking 10 years with the store this year. Starting out as a clinical technician with no experience in optics, she’s worked her way through roles including an in-store trainer for staff.

She says: ‘Over the years, I’ve been able to work alongside some of the most kind, dedicated and driven people. It’s this camaraderie that’s made Specsavers more than just a workplace for me.’

Gordon Simpson, store director at Specsavers Irvine, says: ‘Every time we celebrate the milestone of a team member, it’s fantastic for us as a locally-owned business to see how the team has progressed and grown.
