Stagecoach have announced that the popular under 19s Ayrshire dayrider will be withdrawn between Monday and Friday and will only be valid on weekends.
The ticket is popular among young people especially those traveling to college or school but Stagecoach say that a line of new tickets including the student day rider will provide value for money.
Stagecoach have issued the following statements online
From Sunday 18th September 2016 our tickets and fares will be changing across our Ayrshire, Arran and Dumfries and Galloway networks. Our megarider and dayrider tickets will be subject to an increase on bus and online. Our Under 19 dayrider ticket will be withdrawn Monday to Friday and will now be valid at weekends only.
the Group dayrider ticket will now be replaced with a Family dayrider ticket. It will be available after 0900am weekdays and all day at weekends and allows travel for 2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children.
From Sunday 18th September 2016 our Under 19's dayrider offer will now only be available at weekends . You can still get out and about on our routes across West Scotland at weekends for only £3.50. Our under 19 dayrider provides unlimited travel within the local area and is valid within our existing dayrider boundaries shown below. It offers a significant discount on most of our dayrider tickets especially over long distance journeys. Simply buy on the bus from your driver asking for an under 19 dayrider.
Under 19 Dayrider tickets are not valid Monday to Friday or on weekend night buses between 12am and 4am.
