Stagecoach West Scotland honours long serving employees

Stagecoach employees from across West Scotland have been recognised for their loyal service and commitment to passenger transport at a special ceremony. 


The tradition of recognising loyal employees who have contributed to the success of Stagecoach takes place annually. Stagecoach has always maintained its dedication to enhancing the skills of employees and contributing to the local economy. With an impressive 457 years of service between them, 17 Stagecoach staff received individual awards for careers of 20 years or more with the company and its predecessors. The recipients from across West Scotland are as follows: Alan Deakin, Ayr Depot, 20 Years Service Henry Carruthers, Kilmarnock Depot, 20 Years Service Thomas Gray, Ayr Depot, 20 Years Service David Nimmo, Ayr Depot, 20 Years Service Andrew Murray, Ayr Depot, 20 Years Service Stewart McNeillie, Ayr Depot, 25 Years Service David McCullough, Dumfries Depot, 25 Years Service Brian Sibbald, Kilmarnock Depot, 25 Years Service William Gentles, Ardrossan Depot, 25 Years Service Gary Hamilton, Kilmarnock Depot, 25 Years Service James Clark, Ardrossan Depot, 25 Years Service Colin Martin, Ayr Depot, 30 Years Service Brian Coulter, Head Office, 30 Years Service Ian Mcgrath, Cumbernauld Depot, 40 Years Service Hugh Duffy, Kilmarnock Depot, 40 Years Service Thomas Wiseman, Ayr Depot, 27 Years Retirement David Johnstone, Dumfries Depot, 40 Years Service and 41 Years Retirement The ceremony took place at the Carlton Hotel, Prestwick. The evening featured a dinner dance with presentations made by Stagecoach West Scotland’s Managing Director Tom Bridge, who thanked staff for their valuable contribution. He said: "Stagecoach is one of the country’s leading transport operators whose team of dedicated staff deliver vital bus services for local people. “The Long Service Awards are when we recognise the loyalty and devotion shown by our many long serving employees and I would personally like to thank those receiving an award for their many years of service to Stagecoach West Scotland and its predecessors.”
