AtkinsRéalis are part of the design team for the new development which will see a modern, state-of-the-art education and community campus built on the site of the former Shell Oil refinery.

Members of the AtkinsRéalis team were at Ardrossan Academy and Stanley Primary to raise awareness and inspire the younger generation to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects, which will have a huge role in helping the council and other local authorities meet their net zero targets.

Primary pupils from local schools were at the ‘Net Zero Superheroes event’ which involved a series of interactive workshops on topics like solar energy and nuclear fuel plus.

The work carried out by AtkinsRéalis is part of their contract with North Ayrshire Council which ensures developers and businesses support local communities when carrying out major works in the area.
