Trains running a reduced service with speed restrictions between Ayrshire & Glasgow tomorrow

ScotRail have announced that Trains between Ayrshire & Glasgow will operate with a 40MPH speed restriction and a reduced 30 minute frequency due to the Heavy Rain forecasted.



ScotRail issued the following information:


"With heavy rainfall forecast from 1000 tomorrow (Monday), our colleagues @NetworkRailScot are imposing a 40mph speed restriction for trains between Howwood and Kilwinning in response to the high volume of rainfall forecast."


"This means we’ll operate a slightly different timetable on the Glasgow Central – Ayr route tomorrow. Services will run every 30 minutes from 10am." "Trains will depart Glasgow Central at xx04 & xx34 past the hour. Trains will depart Ayr at xx06 & xx36 past the hour."


"We expect these speed restrictions to be in place until at least 0900 on Tuesday morning, but if anything changes as the weather arrives, we’ll let you know as soon as we can."
