The

The Ayrshire-based optician is backing the major fundraising event, which takes place on Saturday 13 June at Eglinton Park in Irvine.
The Colour Dash is one of Ayrshire’s biggest charity fundraisers, bringing people together to run, jog, walk or roll around a colourful 5K route while supporting two much-loved local charities.
Yvette Brown, Marketing Manager at Urquhart Opticians, said the team was delighted to support the event once again.

“We’re delighted to support the Colour Dash once again this year. It’s always such a fantastic day, bringing together people of all abilities and families to enjoy a wonderful event, all in support of two incredible causes.
“We’re proud to work alongside Ayrshire Cancer Support and the Ayrshire Hospice, two local charities that have touched the lives of so many in our community and are very close to our team’s hearts.

“The work they do is invaluable, and it means a great deal to everyone at Urquhart’s to play a part in supporting them.”
Around 1,000 people are expected to take part in the fun-filled family day, which will see participants covered in colour as they make their way around Eglinton Park.

This year’s event also falls on a huge weekend for Scotland fans, with the national team kicking off their first World Cup match since 1998 in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Ayrshire Cancer Support and the Ayrshire Hospice provide vital care and support to patients and families across Ayrshire and Arran. Ayrshire Cancer Support offers practical and emotional support to people affected by cancer, while the Ayrshire Hospice provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care.

For Shona MacLaren, both charities hold a deeply personal place in her heart. Her husband, Will, was supported by both organisations during his illness.
Shona said: “Ayrshire Cancer Support has been a lifeline for my family following the loss of my husband, while I was also going through my own treatment. They continue to support both me and my children through their invaluable family support services.
“The Ayrshire Hospice provided compassionate end-of-life care for Will in his final hours after a sudden decline in his health. They treated him with dignity and gave our family the space, care, and support we needed, not only on that day, but in the time since.

“We will be forever grateful to both charities and will always support the incredible work they do.”
Registration is now open for the Colour Dash on Saturday 13 June at Eglinton Park, Irvine.
