Ayrshire Cancer Support Launches New 100km Community Challenge

Ayrshire Cancer Support has launched a brand-new fundraising challenge for 2026, encouraging people across Ayrshire to get active throughout May while supporting local people affected by cancer.
The Ayrshire 100 invites individuals, families, friends, workplaces and community groups to complete 100 kilometres over the course of the month.

Participants can take part in any way that suits them, including walking, running, cycling, swimming or by combining different activities.
There are two ways to get involved. My 100 is for individuals who want to complete the full 100km at their own pace, while Our 100 allows teams to work together and share the distance between them.
The charity says the challenge is a great way to improve wellbeing, connect with others and raise vital funds for services across Ayrshire.

Ayrshire Cancer Support relies heavily on community fundraising to continue its work, with £3,457 needed every day to maintain its essential services.
As part of the challenge, corporate partner Rocket Monkey will host a special 24-hour cycling event from 22 to 23 May.
The team will run a continuous in-store cycling challenge, with members of the public invited to sign up for a 15-minute slot or drop in on the day to take part.

Whether people take on the challenge alone, as part of a team, or by supporting the Rocket Monkey event, every kilometre will help raise funds for people affected by cancer across Ayrshire.
