Yellow warning for wind issued by the Met-Office across most parts of Ayrshire

VALID 15:00 MON - 23:45 MON

A spell of very windy weather is likely Monday afternoon and evening across parts of Scotland, potentially bringing disruption to transport.

A spell of very strong westerly winds is expected through Monday afternoon, and lasting into the first part of Monday night.

Gusts of 55-65 mph are expected widely, with gusts of 70-80 mph possible in more exposed parts of the Hebrides and north-west Scotland.

Winds should slowly moderate from the west late Monday.
