Youngsters will have a ball at Wrap, Run & Fun

Youngsters can catch up with their friends, enjoy a nutritious lunch and take part in some fantastic, free activities as Wrap, Run & Fun sessions return to a number of schools and community venues this October holiday.

North Ayrshire Council’s holiday school meals and activities programme will run at Dalry, Dreghorn, Elderbank, Hayocks, Mayfield and St Bridget’s primary schools from Monday, October 14, to Friday, October 18.

Sessions are completely free of charge to all North Ayrshire primary school children.

Youngsters will be served up a healthy Gold Standard 'Food for Life' lunch and can take part in a range of activities, from arts and drama to active fun with KA Leisure. There’s no need to register - kids can simply turn up on the day at any of the participating schools.

Councillor Jim Montgomerie, Cabinet Member for Place, said: “We are thrilled that our holiday school meals service is returning for the October holidays.

“Wrap, Run & Fun sessions are a fantastic way for children to meet with their friends in a safe environment, enjoy some free, fun activities, and enjoy a tasty Gold Standard lunch into the bargain.”

A number of community centres will also be holding Wrap, Run & Fun sessions, where a small charge may apply and registration may be required in advance.
