WATCH: Ayrshire Beach locked down after a suspicious Ordanance was found on the Beach

The Coastguard Team was tasked at 11:00 today to ordnance at Ballantrae Harbour.

The team made their way to the scene and on arrival found a cassing on the beach. Photos were taken and passed to EOD ( explosive ordnance disposal).

A 100 meter cordon was put in place for safety.

Assistance was asked for from Police Scotland.

Once EOD arrived on scene they assessed the shell and deemed it necessary to do a controlled explosion.

The 100 meter was maintained till EOD had given the all clear. All resources stood down and returned to base.
