21 year old Kai Milligan killed in car crash between Ayr and Maybole


A 21 year-old man has died following a road crash on the B7024 in Ayr on Sunday 24 July 2016.


Around 4:45pm on Sunday afternoon, a 19 year-old woman was driving a Vauxhall Corsa car northbound on the B7024, Ayr near to Blairston Mains, when it appears that the vehicle lost control and left the road.

Emergency services attended, however a 21 year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. He can now be named as Kai Milligan (21) of Miller Terrace, Maybole. Relatives are aware.

A 15 year-old boy was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock then later transferred to the Royal Hospital for sick children in Glasgow where he is being treated for his injuries. Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

A 12 year-old boy was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, where he is being treated for his injuries. Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

The 19 year-old driver, and a 17 year-old female passenger were taken by ambulance to Ayr Hospital where they were both released after treatment for minor injuries.

Sergeant Andy Johnston of the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Irvine is appealing for information. He said today:

“Our enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the crash, and I would ask anyone who witnessed the crash or who saw the car involved on the B7024 before the incident to contact our office.

“Anyone with information that may assist our investigation should contact the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Irvine through the 101 number.”
