Less than a year after opening 7 Saints at The Cross in Prestwick the hard work of Nick Livingstone and his staff has attracted national recognition and acclaim.
The bar and burger kitchen has been shortlisted as one of six finalists from around the UK not just for one award, but for two prestigious Great British Pub Awards (GBPA)1. 7 Saints was chosen as a GBPA finalist for Best Spirits Bar for its quirky innovative cocktails and flavoured vodkas and Best Partnership for Nick’s exemplary partnership with pub company, Star Pubs & Bars2, who invested in the site. The winners of the Great British Pub Awards will be announced at black tie event at the Hilton in London on 7th September. Nick took on the bar in 2016 and with the help of a £150k joint refurbishment with Star Pubs & Bars, transformed an underused pub into a popular bar and burger kitchen, attracting people from Prestwick, local towns and further afield. Nick said of 7 Saints’ achievement: “I’m thrilled that 7 Saints has been shortlisted not just for one but for two prestigious awards. A year ago, 7 Saints hadn’t even opened its doors and today its gaining recognition as one of the best bars in the country. “It would be great to win – a real affirmation of the efforts of 7 Saints staff. Great also for Prestwick and for our many loyal customers.” Star Pubs & Bars director, Gary Corney said: “Nick and his team have done an amazing job at 7 Saints. It’s great to see their hard work and innovative approach recognised in this way. From the outset Nick had a clear vision of the type of bar he wanted to create and he has created something truly unique. He’s an example to others with entrepreneurial ambitions of what can be achieved , which is why no doubt he was chosen as the first recipient of Diageo’s Learning for Life Scholarship designed to accelerate entrepreneurial skills.”
