Berelands House, located in the coastal town of Prestwick, has become Renaissance Care's 19th home after it was sold by The Priory Group.

The chain, founded by Scottish entrepreneur Dr Robert Kilgour, operates care homes across Scotland, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ayr, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Blairgowrie, Inverness, and Moray.
Yvonne Richardson, Renaissance Care's Operations Director, said: “With over 20 years of experience, our vision is to deliver high-quality, person-centred care and to create homes where both residents and staff can truly thrive,” she said
“We’re delighted to welcome Berelands Care Home into Renaissance Care as our 19th home within Scotland.
“This addition strengthens our presence across Glasgow and Ayrshire and supports greater collaboration across the region. We look forward to building on the home’s strong foundations of quality, person-centred care for both residents and staff.”
Berelands House has 63 rooms including 35 for those with dementia.
In April, it was graded as “very good” across two quality indicators after an unannounced spot check by the Care Inspectorate.
Renaissance Care said Berelands House is their fifth home in the Glasgow and Ayrshire area “strengthening our ability to provide collaborative support and share best practice across the region”.
A spokersperson added: “Berelands is a special care home with a strong focus on quality care and lifestyle - it's strong foundations is somethinge we're looking forward to encouraging and enhancing. The people within the home are a wonderful addition to our group, already aligning closely with our people-first culture and values.”
