This weekend will see a Northern Airflow arrive across Scotland giving a risk of Night-time frost and even snow on the Scottish mountains, Just a fortnight ago temperatures hit 23c across Ayrshire however on the May day bank holiday temperatures will struggle to reach 9-12c in some places a whole 10c cooler.

However the colder weather will come with plenty of sunny spells but chilly nights with lows of 1-3c increasing the risk of ground frost in sheltered areas.

The colder trend is expected to last for the foreseeable future.
