Ardrossan Coastguard called on incident prevention this morning

The Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team was deployed on incident prevention patrol in Irvine this morning to support the Polar Plunge organised by the volunteer organisation Coastwatch Scotland Irvine.
The team was on hand as over 140 fundraisers braved the cold conditions to run into the sea to raise money for various charities on New Years Day.
Well done to everyone who took the plunge today and to those involved in the organisation.
