Armed Forces Day and Pipes in the Park takes place this weekend

The countdown is now on for the annual Holy Fair with Armed Forces and Pipes in the Park.



The event, taking place this weekend (Saturday 23 June) on Ayr Low Green from 12noon – 4pm is a fun filled family day out with something for everyone.


The event starts with the Official Armed Forces Day Flag Raising Ceremony at 11:45am followed by market and charity stalls, a pipe band contest, military attractions, fairground rides, food outlets, children's activities and the ever popular children’s dog show.


New for 2018 is the Highland Games 'Fling Zone' where you are invited to test your skills in Highland Games events including Shot Putt, Caber Toss, Weight Over the Bar, Welly Throw & Haggis Hurling.


Also new for 2018 is the addition of Beach Volleyball. 


The Scottish Beach Volleyball Tour has, for the first time, added Ayr to their tour where both male and female teams in various age categories will take to the beach in the next round of the tour.
