Level 4 lockdown areas in Ayrshire could go straight to level 2 in December for Christmas

Areas of Ayrshire that will enter level 4 lockdown restrictions on Friday could go straight to level 2 restrictions from 11th December FM Nicola Sturgeon confirmed today.

South & East Ayrshire will both enter level 4 restrictions from 6PM on Friday for 3 weeks or until 11th Deceber 2020, however FM Nicola Sturgeon confirmed today that if cases in these areas fall to a suitable level then these areas could be downgraded to level 2 restrictions in time for Christmas.

North Ayrshire, however, remains the only local authority in Ayrshire to stay at level 3. It's currently not known if North Ayrshire would also be downgraded to level 2 restrictions in time for Christmas.
