LOCALITY POLICING - UPDATE - IRVINE - MARYMASS
The annual Marymass Festival in Irvine is now well underway with a variety of community events and parades having taken place ahead of the main event, Marymass Saturday, on 25th August 2018.

Locality Policing Officers in Irvine have been supporting events including the annual Fourth Port Parade and Fireworks Display by providing a policing presence and facilitating the festival parades.
Sergeant Jason Peter, of the Irvine Locality Policing Team, said: “community events like the Fourth Port Parade bring people together - it’s always great to see those participating and the many more who show their support from the house window or when out in the street.
“The community led Festival of Light Parade and Fireworks Display continued to attract a crowd despite the weather on Saturday night - with a spectacularly lit float designed by young people and many more participating in the fancy dress competition.
“Local officers will be on patrol throughout the Marymass Festival working with the organisers and our partners to ensure a safe event.
For the full event listings see local press or posts of social media from the festival committee.
