SERIOUS ROAD CRASH – GALSTON, AYRSHIRE
Officers from the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Irvine are appealing for information following a serious road crash on the A71 in Galston, East Ayrshire on Thursday 17 May 2018.

Around 8am on Thursday 17th May, a 52 year-old man was driving his red Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on the A71 near to the entrance to Mayfield Garage Galston, when it was involved in a collision with a silver BMW 5 series car being driven westbound by a 24 year-old man.
Emergency services attended and the 52 year-old motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock where he is being treated for his injuries. Hospital staff describe his condition as critical.
The driver of the BMW did not require hospital treatment.
Sergeant Ian Thornton of the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Irvine is appealing for any information. He said: “Our investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing, and at this time I would appeal to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, or anyone who was driving on that road around the time of the crash who may have seen the vehicles involved, or who has dash-cam footage to please contact us.
