Police appealing after police vehicle damaged in Maybole

POLICE VEHICLE DAMAGED – MAYBOLE POLICE STATION

Officers from South Ayrshire are appealing for information following damage to a police vehicle in the early hours of Wednesday the 18th July 2018.

Between 0200 and 0400 hours a marked emergency response police vehicle was parked outside Maybole Police Station when it was targeted by two people who attempted to set it on fire and caused extensive damage. This damage has resulted in the vehicle being taken out of service for repair.

Community Inspector John Hamilton commented “Enquires are ongoing to identify those responsible. This not only impacts on our local community but can cause a negative effect on how policing is delivered in the area whilst this vehicle is being repaired. I would encourage anyone with information to contact the local policing team.”

Anyone with information can pass this to CID officers at Ayr Police Station by calling 101, quoting incident number 0511 of the 18th July 2018. Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
