Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery in Ayr on Friday 1 March 2019.
Around 8:30pm, a man enters a convenience store, known locally as Libby, in Main Road, Ayr, threatens staff with a weapon (not a firearm) and demands they hand over the cash from the till. The man made off with a four-figure sum of cash in the direction of Low Road, Ayr.
The two female members of staff, aged 17 and 26, were uninjured, however they have been left badly shaken by the incident.
The suspect is white, in his early 20s, with a slim build and short dark hair. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, dark coloured trousers and a black scarf. He was also wearing a medical ‘moonboot’.
Officers continue to carry out house to house enquiries and are gathering CCTV footage for review.
Detective Inspector Stephen McCulloch said:
“This is a very busy area with a local chip shop nearby, I’m sure there will have been people out and about and would have noticed the man. I am appealing to local people to think back and consider if they saw this man, did you see him enter the store, did you see him leave? If you have any information, no matter how insignificant you think it is, please pass it on as it could assist our enquiries."
