Police are appealing for information after Robbery in Ardrossan


ROBBERY – GLASGOW STREET, ARDROSSAN

Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery at a post office in Ardrossan on Saturday 14 January 2017.

Around 1900 hours a man entered the post office in Glasgow Street and threatened the 44 year old female member of staff and demand money.

The suspect then made off from the premises with a five figure sum of cash.

The woman was slightly injured during the incident however did not require hospital treatment.

The man is described as around 5ft8, and wearing a black jacket with the hood up and black workmen style boots. He was also carrying a black holdall.

Detective Sergeant John Deans from Saltcoats CID said: “This was a terrifying experience for the woman working in the post office and enquiries are ongoing to trace the person responsible.

“Glasgow Street would have been busy around the time of the incident and I would like to speak to anyone who saw a man matching the above description or anything else suspicious.
