The aerospace giant, which operates a major site in Prestwick, is a brand-new sponsor for this year’s event, set to take place at Ayr shorefront on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 September.

GE Aerospace’s Caledonian site has a long-standing reputation for overhauling and repairing aircraft engines used worldwide. With more than 45 years of engineering expertise, the Prestwick facility is recognised for its focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

GE Aerospace’s Caledonian Site Leader, Andy Prow, said: “I truly believe GE Aerospace in Prestwick is a special place to work. It’s where careers are built, talent is nurtured, and the future of aviation takes shape every day. We are proud to support the 2025 International Ayr Show - Festival of Flight with its spectacular displays that inspire the next generation of aviation enthusiasts.”

Leader of South Ayrshire Council, Councillor Brian Connolly, welcomed the partnership, saying: “GE Aerospace is a key employer in the area and passionate about inspiring local students through hands-on learning, mentorship, and opportunities to build valuable skills for the future. So, it’s brilliant that they’ve chosen to align themselves with the airshow and offer their support through this sponsorship.”

Depute Leader and Portfolio Holder for Tourism, Culture and Rural Affairs, Councillor Alec Clark, added: “This is the first time GE Aerospace has sponsored the airshow and it’s fantastic to see new firms come forward to show their support for what’s becoming established as a must-see experience in the annual Scottish events calendar. I’m delighted to welcome the team and I’ll look forward to seeing their representatives at the festival.”

The International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight will return to Ayr shorefront on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 September. Full details can be found at destinationsouthayrshire.co.uk/ayrshow/
