Police Appeal launched to trace missing Troon man

Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a missing man from the Troon area.

Kyle Cowan, 32, was last seen around 4.30pm on Thursday, 25 September, when he was dropped off at Collennan Reservoir with plans to go camping.

He is described as around 5ft 10in tall, of medium build, with short brown hair. When last seen, Kyle was wearing sandals, shorts and a lightweight jumper, and was carrying a backpack.

Sergeant Steven Bruce said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of Kyle and want to make sure he is ok. If anyone has seen anyone matching his description since yesterday afternoon, please get in contact with the police.”

Anyone with information is urged to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2974 of 25 September, 2025.
