  • SCAM PHONE CALL WARNING FROM AYRSHIRE POLICE

    Police in Ayrshire are warning the public to be aware of bogus telephone calls from fake scammers claiming to be from communications providers in order to gain access to computers and personal data. According to Ayrshire Police Division on Facebook, residents have contacted Police Scotland over the last few weeks regarding 'Suspicious' phone calls. After the Ayrshire Daily News experiencing the 'scam' - we know exactly what they are after - During the call residents are told that there is an issue with their computer, broadband or telephone line. The annonymus caller then attempts to retreive access to the computer by trying to convince the home owner. A spokesperson for Ayrshire Police Division commented "bogus callers are often very convincing - they are skilled in what they do. Unfortunately, telephone scams are not unusual and people are often caught out by the plausible nature of the person on the other end of the line. "This is a well known scam across the UK and we would like to take this opportunity to remind people to stay vigilant and to think twice if they are ever offered something that is to be too good to be true or when they receive an unexpected call".   • STILL GAME ISA SET FOR GAIETY PANTO THIS YEAR

    WATCH VIDEO BELOW - STILL GAME'S nosey Isa played by Jane McCarry has swapped her frumpy Isa coat for a glamourous gown in this year’s Gaiety Theatre panto in December! Jane McCarry who played 'Isa' in hit comedy TV show Still Game is due to storm the Gaiety Theatre in December as she will be taking on the role as the 'Fairy Beansprout' in this years panto. Ayrshire Daily News spoke to the star and she told us: "I adore doing panto, and i cannot wait to be working at Ayr Gaiety near the seaside with Michael Courtney and the fantastic cast of this years panto in Ayr - the good thing about this venue is, it's small and compact and the audience will definetely feel part of the show" Ayr panto favourite Fraser Boyle, is going to be playing Jack’s mum, Fraser was in last years Beauty and the Beast at the Gaiety. He said: “I am really looking forward to this panto, I just love the Gaiety. There is something about the Gaiety Theatre – it is just magical, I can see people’s faces in the back of the stalls and look them in the eye. “The Ayrshire familys and kids are really up for a laugh when they come to the Gaiety panto, this is probably because the theatre was closed for a few years." The full cast includes Michael Courtney as Fleshcreep, James Bustar as Simple Simon, Colin Ferguson as The Regal King, Liam Webster as Jack and Abbie Watson as Princess Jill.   • AIR WE GO AGAIN! - SCOTTISH AIRSHOW IS A SUCCESS FOR 2015

    Record breaking crowd for the Scottish Airshow 2015 see's just over 120,000 people turning up for the spectacular event. Airshow organiser's told Ayrshire Daily News that they had ordered the sun for the two day event held at Low Green Ayr and Prestwick Airport, well it was surely delivered to them on the day, 1st class as we seen clear Sky's. An estimated 120,000 people were at the Airshow event and Air Displays were watched as far as Heads of Ayr and Greenan Castle - this is twice the amount of people than last year as organisers estimated over 60,000. Ayrshire Daily News, Euan Ruddick, was speaking to the Scottish Minster of Transport Derek MacKay who told us "The traffic flow was great getting here, it's great to see so many people out here watching the show, and hopefully the way that planning has gone people will appreciate a slight delay in traffic" Watch FULL video interview here with Derek MacKay - The public and tourists were also speaking to us and said they were excited for the Red Arrows & the last ever flight of the Vulcan Bomber. The RAF team provided a breath-taking display of stunts and sequences to excite the crowd watching from miles away and on the Low Green - This display was commentated by the Red Arrow ground team, which we were speaking to in the Mercure Hotel just 1 night before the big show, one ground team member told us, he was very excited for the display and hopes to be back next year. We hosted the Scottish Airshow's 2015 entertainment stage with Digital Kitchens & Bedrooms, where we had a line-up of Act's throughout the day including Kids Entertainer MAGIC MALKY, Vocalist - Chloe Barnes, Vocalist Katee Kross, Jennie Campbell's dance school and more - it was hosted by our very own Euan Ruddick of Ayrshire Daily News and Heart Radio DJ Gavin Wallace!     Hurlford Thistle Blown Away! In a thrilling match in the Truck Point Ayrshire Amateur Football Association newly promoted 1st Division winners Mossblown Boswell defeated last seasons Premier division Champions Hurlford 5-4 in a thrilling match at Goodwin Drive. Hurlford Thistle - Ayrshire Cup, Premier League & Eric White Memorial Champions 2014/15 were favourites for the victory and still sit sit top of the league with 9 points from four games with Mossblown Boswell sitting 6th after tonight's results. Tonight's result will certainly raise a few eyebrows as Hurlford were touted for a comfortable victory with a deep experienced squad at their disposal. Mossblown Committee member Scott Mcilwrick was delighted with his teams work rate in the whole match pressing Hurlford the whole game limiting their pass and move approach that Hurlford usually play and this seemed to unsettle them. Mossblown Boswell take on 2nd division Crookedholm in the 1st round of the EDF Energy Ayrshire Challenge Cup At Goodwin Drive on Saturday 22nd with a 2pm Kick off & they will be hoping to keep up the same work rate and tempo for another fantastic result.

  • TROON TRAIN STATION TARGETED BY VANDALS

    TROON train station has been targeted in latest vandal attack. Rail staff who are based at the Troon Train Station arrived last Sunday morning only to find smashed glass and raided cupboard after managing to get access to the station by smashing 3 windows it was understood. The vandals/theives left with nothing according to rail staff. A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “Officers are investigating vandalism at Troon railway station, which occurred between 6pm on Saturday, 8 August, and 8am on Sunday, 9 August. “Waiting room and toilet windows were broken in the incident, causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage." It has also been said that Flowers have been ruined recently by sick vandals.
